Blida 1 University
To build strong and innovative connections with the student community, with the goal of providing unique work experiences that contribute to the growth and development of each individual
Welcome
The University Center of Blida was established on June 20, 1977 (pursuant to Decree No. 77-92), and opened its doors to students four years later, on September 8, 1981, with 526 students enrolled at the time, taught by 57 professors, including 17 foreign professors. In August 1989, the University Center of Blida was transformed into a university pursuant to Executive Decree No. 89-137 dated August 1, 1989.
The cooperative training program at the University of Blida is a highly valuable educational approach aimed at gradually integrating university students into the job market, which is experiencing ever-increasing demands.
Each year, approximately 5,000 cooperative training placements are carried out at around 1,000 institutions and organizations across various sectors.
Blida, the provincial capital, is located 50 km southwest of Algiers, on the southern edge of the M’Tidja Plain, and 22 km from the sea. It is distinguished by its location at the point where the mountains meet the plain. The alluvial fan of the Wadi Sidi al-Kabeer places it at an elevation of approximately 270 meters. The municipality of Blida covers an area of 7,208 hectares. The natural landscape is characterized by four distinct areas: the first two areas comprise the mountain foothills, bordered to the south by the mountains and converging at Wadi Sidi al-Kabeer. The western part is bordered to the north by Wadi Sidi al-Kabeer, which is fed by several streams and watercourses.
